AMES-Test
The AMES test, also known as "bacterial reverse mutation test", determines the mutagenic effects of substances, for example in the context of drug research or the evaluation of chemicals. Here, bacteria are used that are no longer able to synthesize essential amino acids. These bacteria are then incubated with potential mutagens on a culture medium where they cannot replicate. If new bacterial colonies are formed, this test proves that the bacteria have regained their ability to synthesize.
Labor LS performs the AMES test for its customers and also prepares the necessary documentation, which serves the authorities as a basis for approval, permit, registration or notification procedures.
