The company

History

Labor LS has been in existence for over 35 years and has developed extensively during this time.

Labor LS SE & Co. KG received an award in the BAYERNS BEST 50 competition as one of the 50 fastest-growing medium-sized companies that have been able to increase the number of their employees and their sales above average in recent years.

A success story since 1987, characterized by growth, quality and innovation. To the LS family now belong more than 600 employees, including 37 apprentices.

The third floor of the laboratory building now offers new laboratory space for microbial count determination, endotoxin testing and suitability tests for sterility. The total laboratory area is now 7,000 m².

In addition, the employees are looking forward to a new cafeteria and a new parking lot in front of the new building.

An open room concept with lots of daylight characterize the new 3-storey building extension.

More than 550 employees currently work at Labor LS SE & Co. KG.

The family-owned company Labor L+S AG sets the course for the future and introduces a European company form, a so-called SE (Societas Europaea), into the existing corporate structure.
The former L+S AG will be renamed Labor LS SE & Co. KG. The SE is now managed by the Administrative Board and the Executive Directors. Currently more than 490 employees work at Labor LS SE & Co. KG. The sample volume amounts to more than 250,000 samples per year, on which approx. 1,000,000 tests are performed.

The new laboratory and office building takes up occupancy at the turn of the year 2016/2017. The laboratory offers state-of-the-art qualified facilities for microbiological testing. This also includes cleanrooms of cleanroom class A (ISO 100) for testing sterile pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

By enlarging the laboratory area and thus optimising processes, we guarantee testing reliability and sufficient testing capacity for our customers.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the fifth and largest extension of Labor L+S AG with a planned office and laboratory space of 7000 m² will take place in June of this year.

Again, a new laboratory building is inaugurated. An additional 1,600 m² of laboratory and office space are now available for various microbiological tests. The core of the extension is an isolator test centre, with which Labor L+S AG has significantly expanded its capacities for testing sterile products.

After the 15th Amendment of the German Medicines Act (AMG) has come into force, Labor L+S AG receives a permit (manufacturing permit) according to § 13 AMG for the first time.

In addition, the further training authorisation for specialist veterinarians for microbiology is granted in February of the same year.

Labor L+S AG receives approval as a training centre for pharmaceutical analytics.

The company continues to grow and a new laboratory is built for and occupied by the physicochemical testing department.

The company founders Dr. Rüdiger Leimbeck and Prof. Dr. Bernd Sonnenschein withdraw from the operative business and move from the company's Executive Board to the Supervisory Board.

The government of Lower Franconia in Würzburg issues a GMP certificate for Labor L+S AG.

Labor L+S AG is one of the first laboratories in Germany to be certified by the LGA Landesgewerbeanstalt Bayern (regional trade office Bavaria) according to the environmental standard IN EN ISO 14001. The number of employees is constantly increasing, the company already employs 115 people.

The legal form of the company is changed. L+S GmbH is converted into a small public limited company, Labor L+S AG.
In the same year, the first FDA inspection (Food and Drug Administration) was successfully passed, so that products tested by Labor L+S AG can now also be exported to the USA.

Continuous growth, with now 70 employees, necessitates a second extension. With the expansion in 1994, 2,000 m² of office and laboratory space are now available.

Labor L+S is accredited according to DIN EN 45001 (meanwhile replaced by DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025). The number of employees has risen steadily to a staff of 50.

First extension to 1,000 m² of laboratory space. Labor L+S meanwhile employs more than 40 people

Dr. Rüdiger Leimbeck and Prof. Dr. Bernd Sonnenschein founded Labor L+S GmbH in Bad Bocklet-Großenbrach. The initials of the company founders Leimbeck and Sonnenschein lend the company its name. L+S GmbH offers microbiological and biological testing of pharmaceuticals and other products on 400 m² laboratory space with 28 employees.
